The ‘stoned’ reference pertains to the use of stone fruit in this Manhattan cocktail. You can substitute a peach if needed. Since those tend to be larger you might need to make 4 drinks out of it. Oh well…
1 nectarine, halved, stone removed
2oz sweet vermouth
4oz bourbon
2 spritzes biters
2 wedges of lemon
2T sugar
Broil the nectarine flesh side up until black spots predominate the flesh. Puree until smooth, adding about ΒΌ water to thin the mixture out.
Combined the cooled puree, vermouth, bourbon and bitters in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 1 minute. Strain with a fine-meshed strainer into a chilled martini glass.
Spill sugar onto a plate and roll the lemon wedges in the sugar until coated. Serve on the side of the glass.
